It's a wonderful experience to watch a movie depicting a local scene and feeling it's universal. I loved the humor and tragedy in Blindspotting. Some scenes are hard to watch and completely necessary.
A little nod to an 80s childhood. "La Guerre des Tuques" ("The Dog Who Stopped the War") came out in 1984. Every winter, I have memories of that film and being a kid in the snow north of the 49th parallel.
