Simon Boulerice

I've been wanting to draw this one for a while. Simon Boulerice is an author from Montreal. He always seems to have the most luminous outlook, embraces the wonderful things in life and his joyful energy is contagious. He posted a picture of him leaping in the air at one of his talks, which inspired the drawing below. Quite acrobatic! The gestures /warm-ups are form the Croquis Cafe YouTube channel.

Greta Gerwig and Arcade Fire

It was a week filled with gratitude for inspiration. I saw Greta Gerwig's new movie "Lady Bird". A beautiful story made with so much kindness and generosity. Then a band I love with all my heart was in town and lifted all our spirits like they always do at their shows. Thank you Arcade Fire! I combined remembering the two events by drawing  Greta Gerwig performing the band's "Afterlife" at the YTMA in 2013.

Steve McQueen in Bullit

Going to spend time with my father soon so it's only appropriate that I celebrate this with a drawing of one of his favorite movies (and actor), Steve McQueen in Bullit.

Montreal Video Game Symphony part 2

The event took place on Friday night and was a huge success according to the critics and social media. The only thing I can say is I wish I weren't many kilometers away and could have attended. Nonetheless, the pictures and videos are quite entertaining. I tried to capture the energy in a drawing of the conductor Dina Gilbert. I had the chance to attend a rehearsal of one of my brother's concert she was conducting. She is such a dynamic artist and definitely an inspiring leader. (The warm up drawings are from this week's "croquis cafe" YouTube channel, as always)
