Goodbye uncle Paul

 It had been a while since I last saw uncle Paul before he passed away last week. I heard from him from my father who is always keeping everyone posted on what is going on in the family. News like these inevitably make you stop and think about the people you love and what makes life so precious. I have a feeling that Paul was tapping into that when he hit the slopes. Wherever he is today, there is no doubt that he is still skiing.

 I have been updating this drawing every New Year, but I was busy with other things during the holidays. I did take the picture I used as reference a few days before January 1st which may explain the self-reflective-lost-in-thoughts gaze. (That's the impression I got after stepping back from the drawing.) I'm fine, I promise! Just a little more grey hair and all the things that go with more years in this life! 💙
